THE TRYPTIC Rewire festival november 7th 2014
It was planned to perform 3 of my works

[ TRAIN FRAGMENTS
+ AFTERSHOCK + DUST ]

WITH THE PERCUSSION GROUP BLIN!MAN
IN A OLD ELECTRICFABRIEK.
The venue was huge and fit totally with the spirit and aesthetic of these 3 pieces.
I had already performed Train Fragments with this percussion group in Brugge. They are very good and powerful. So, we started using the architecture resonance. Hit and Slam on the Steel metal structure and gradually move on the stage. All the audience in the dark with few lights on the structure of the factory. we played the first piece until the train derails _ just at the end of this movement, very synchronise with the score … Total black out. We crash the electricity of the factory. Incredible but true. Ironical !!!!! The building foreman was out for the week end. Impossible to reboot the system. But these first 15 minutes was so intense and the audience stay very hi when the power crash. So the tryptic was reduce to these 15 minutes. More pictures coming soon !

Digital Futures: New Realities
EOTONE / FRANCE
Eotone move to Rennes just after Nantes. It was installed again outdoor near a subway. In the Hoche Square.Several people passed through Eotone. The people of Rennes were really curious. We had many questions and passers remained long in the center of the installation, listening and contemplating the movement of structures by the wind. pictures will come soon.
LINK.C / RENNES / FRANCE
I presented for the first time my new piece LINK.C at the festival “Maintenant” in rennes. PIECE BASED ON PHILIP GLASS’S STRING QUARTET NO. 2. The festival ask the ICARI String Quartet to play the Philip Glass score. I was very impressed and touched by their way to interpret this beautiful piece. They worked on some organic and fine details to achieve a very emotional interpretation. Thank’s again to Gaetan and Cyril to invite me to perform LINK.C in a this world premiere.
Earthquake in Roma
On the september 12th, I played at 90db festival in a such appropriate location for Seismik. A old paper factory in a middle of a municipal parc _ PARCO APPIA ANTICA_. It was kind of a danger for the audience. All the roof was made old dirty windows made with glass. And after connecting my software to Japan, all the building started to shake with this glass vibrations. At the end the performance the audience was so expressive and excited, the applause didn’t stop for 10 minutes… that it was impossible to go out of the stage. So, I decided to perform “Dust” to give a feedback gift to this warm audience even it was not planned in the program. You will find pictures of the geophone I installed on the stage to analyse the vibration/frequency of the factory related to my realtime internet connection Japan seismographs. The pictures of the destroyed piano was the one for Kathy Hynde beautiful piece “Bird Step Sequencer” __” http://kathyhinde.co.uk/bird-step-sequencer/ “
SEISMIK > MONTREAL / MUTEK2014
I presented 2 Seismik performances on the same nights. After the beta version presented in spain, I worked to update, with lucas, our OpenFrameWork Seismik Dataconnect . We add presets and target points to help me in live situations. During my EM15 performance, I had some trouble, with the OSC connections between the 2 laptops, minor problems … ! But, for me, the worst was the sound system, lot of crack noise because my low frequencies was too heavy for the sound system. I will nedd to add a frequency protection to my audio patch. Anyway, there is some pictures from caroline Hayeur, my official Mutek photograph, hi !!!
EOTONE / MONTREAL
After 2 years working with David letellier, we finally present our project Eotone at Elektra-Mutek EM15_ Biennale internationale art numérique Musée Art Contemporain de Montréal.
WITH EOTONE, KOLGEN AND LETELLIER REFLECT ON DISTANCE AND WEATHER, BY STAGING SOMETHING INTANGIBLE YET POWERFUL: THE WIND. FOUR SOUND AND SCULPTURAL DIFFUSERS, CONTAINING ELEMENTS OF BOTH THE WEATHER VANE AND THE FOG HORN, MAKE UP THIS MONUMENTAL INSTALLATION THAT RENDERS IN MOVEMENT AND SOUND THE DIRECTION AND FORCE OF THE WIND BLOWING SIMULTANEOUSLY ON TWO CONTINENTS: IN MONTREAL AND QUEBEC CITY ON ONE SIDE OF THE ATLANTIC, IN RENNES AND NANTES ON THE OTHER. THE WIND DATA RECORDED IN EACH CITY IS TRANSMITTED LIVE TO THE DIFFUSERS, CONTROLLING THE ORIENTATION OF EACH OF THE STRUCTURES AND ORCHESTRATING THE COMBINED CHORDS THAT MAKE UP THE HARMONIC WHOLE PERCEIVED AT THE HEART OF THE INSTALLATION. BY TRANSFORMING WEATHER DATA INTO SOUND, EOTONE OFFERS A SUBTLE ARTISTIC VISION OF THE INTERNET OF OBJECTS.
