Korea arrival
Après 24 heures d’avion en passant par Paris, j’arrive enfin à Seoul. Déjà la langue, la musique de la langue est très différente de celle de la chine. Ça me semble beaucoup plus doux et harmonieux à l’oreille. Je pense juste à me retrouver à l’horizontal . . . sleeping sleeping. en attendant quelques images. All this city ::: city of tommorow ::: was contruct in the last 15 months. . . hum ! In Montreal, it’s take 3 years to contruct one building like this.

Yesterday, at mutek11 _ it was the most special and impredictible event at Ectoplasm :::: EricZZmattson improvised a NoisePunkSet on the Steve Bates Guitar. Ectoplasm one of the best event at mutek, the audience was very enthousiasm and have a great respect for all the artists. thank’s to Eric to make it happen Here some picts from my cellphone.

Mutek set-up
I took the day to prepare my audio set-up for mutek Ectoplasm3, curated by eric mattson _ june 3th. I will improvise with Jean-Pierre Aubé that will use live frequency interference captations. Kind of airwaves spy. On my side, I will create some tectonic ambiances ( large scale motions of Earth’s lithosphere ) from my field recordings archive. To play with these field recordings, I set-up today a special EctoPlate instrument that can produce friction texture’s and can also activate ( by few pressure sensors ) my field recordings.
There some picts of my today laboratory. If the tests are fairly conclusive, I will improve this tectonic instrument for next Thursday. I recorded also my first test improvisation, it’s near near 35min. I like very much the overall feel.

Dust Mangler
For the past 10 days, I began my aesthetical researchs ( audio / visual ) for my project DUST. Experimenting with particle systems in 3d environnements and particles systems in audio patches. I try to bring them into dynamic relationships. The similarities between the audio noise and video dust are becoming more challenging.
Tonight I spend time to create some sources and harsh textures with the BitMangler I found at RobotSpeak in San Francisco . Even sound very harmonious did not leave indebted. The sound is split into rougher complex nd rich audio dirt. hi hi! _ The joystick is very sensitive. In the next weeks I will mix these audio sources with reaktor patches that will generated granular, kind of dust audio .

These days, I am complete the music+sound design of Centipede Sun _ the new short film by my friend Mihai Grecu. Grecu went in the Chile desert to shoot the images. The sonor ambiance I created is very slow and immersive _ mid-wind + mid-mineral.
